Re-Print Violin

RE-PRINT

3D Printed Violin & Material Study

For this project, my group and I explored different ways of fabricating a violin in order to make music more accessible to everyone. We researched recycled plastic as this is the material we have in abundance all over the world. After different designs and prototypes we came up with the idea of selling cheap boxes that contain the minimum hardware needed to create a violin. The user would have the files for their personalized violin on an SD file and be able to print it directly at their local 3d printer. We designed the idea around a circular loop where if one piece of your violin breaks, you are able to reprint that specific broken part only. The plastic is always recycled. We ended up with a working prototype to present.
